Bélgica acogió una triple cita electoral : federal, regional y europea. Los pronósticos que auguraban una victoria del partido de extrema derecha separatista Vlaams Belang en Flandes no se cumplieron finalmente pese a los buenos resultados obtenidos por esa formación, y el N-VA, presidido por Bart de Wever, siguió siendo el más votado en esa región. A nivel federal, el N-VA obtuvo el 22,4 % de los votos (según los resultados con algo más del 50 % de los votos escrutados), seguido del Vlaams Belang (17,7 %) y los socialistas flamencos de Vooruit (10,5 %).
